Worship is giving God the glory he alone deserves. One of the ways we can do that is through God's gracious gift of music. The Scripture is filled with commands and examples of praising God. Through music, we can develop and deepen our relationship with Him.
The Worship Ministry Third Baptist Church exists first to lead the church in worship as we gather for our weekly meetings. We also want to provide a place for members to serve each other, using our gifts from God to edify the body of Christ. As we do this, we want to equip the church in general musical knowledge that will enhance the use of music in glorifying God.
The worship team at 3BC is a growing group of people who love to worship, and who love to serve using their gift of music. Our worship team is made up of several groups working together to lead worship…the worship choir, praise teams, instrumentalists, and audio-visual techs. All of us – in our varied and diverse abilities – seek to lead worship at 3BC. We do this through…

…special concerts or presentations.
…outreach through our Christmas program.

In our DU class, we studied the development of the hymn from before the birth of Christ to the present-day. While there was a wealth of information, we did focus on major themes and composers, such as the Psalms, New Testament hymns, the Reformation, Isaac Watts, the Wesleys, and others. Click on the title above to see the outlines and discover the developments of hymns, or songs of praise to God.
